i'm aware of this issue is i cant run it any higher cause my ground controls are at the top of the collar. However i do have them dampened all the way as stiff as they will go with spring rates made for this specifically for this swap.

I bought one from a guy on this site...yet i'm highly doubting how strong it really is. I flipped it over and stood on it and it damn near flattened completely out. Something that damn flimsy will not protect shit.

Good thread OP, thanks for sharing. You guys did a great job, especially considering the time constraint and fact that you didnt have access to a lift for the project! The engine looks beautiful in the bay. That's the main thing I wanted to comment on after checking through the pictures. Someone did a good job cleaning it up before stuffing it in there.

Enjoy the car, shouldnt be hard. Congrats.

Well I built my own. Its saved my pan more than a few times. So I can't speek for the one you bought. Mines 14 gauge steel with it bent up to rap the sump its not pretty but it works.

                          long way to go!

lots of prep work to do before the car goes off to paint.

prepping e30m3 5 lug stuff still

debating which route to go with suspension for the car.

gotta collect swap parts to get the s54 and 6speed in

then arranging final details on engine management.

                          thats my checklist so far!

                          haha!

i wish it could be an easy swap like yours!

nice work for sure though! always good to have a ton of guys to help out and have fun at the same time!

whats next for your ride now?!

Thanks for the kind words man. Way i bought a 5 gallon jug of purple power and dumped it all over the bay then used a pressure washer on it, There still some cleaning of wiring and little stuff like that.

IMO get ground controls with custom spring rates.

As far as my car, i'm not really sure yet. I know im going to celan up the engine bay a bit. Need to buy a couple small things but nothing crazy. I want to start redoing the interior now.
