    Evaporative Emission Valve - Do I need it?

    I am finishing up the wiring on my swap and I have a 2 wire connector that I have determined should go to the evaporative emission valve. The motor I got does not have the valve and I'm wondering if I can just leave the connector disconnected or will I throw a code?

    Has anyone else had to deal with this issue and what are my options?

    BTW.... this is a dedicated track car so no problems with emissions.

    this probably wont help you much but i did keep the valve and connected it to one of the TB hoses(i think), dont remember which hose though. I'd have to go out and look, it's been so long, I also got rid of the charcoal canister since i dont have to go through emissions.

      You can leave it disconnected but it will throw a code.

      Go to Radio Shack and get 33Ohm resistor, plus or minus. They are big, ceramic power resistors. Connect it where the valve would go and it will fool the ECU into not throwing a code. It's a time proven solution.
