Removing the engine mount arm heatshield (and possible slight grinding of the arm) will help with clearance.

I was actually wondering how far I can lift/tilt the motor while still attached to the motor mounts.

You should easily be able to lift it a couple of inches.

little late on response as seems like you've got a bit of help already.

I had this same issue, now i know this sounds silly but hear me out.

take weight off motor
remove motor mount arm
install header
reinstall motor mount arm

Like i said i know it sounds silly but i ran into this same exact issue... removed the motor mount arm attached the header, and put the arm back on and it cleared perfect. No beating or bending was required.

I ran into this same issue on the engine stand and it looked like either do that, or pull the head studs to install it. Once in place clearance is tight and you have to use a wrench on one of the bolts to the block, but it fits.
