    TMS Shorty Headers

    Hi!
Will the Turner Motorsport Shorty headers (built for M50 / S50 swap) fit the S50B30 Euro engine?
Anyone running them and are satisfied?

    Thanks,

I'm running them on my M50B29. Quality components, that's for sure. They were designed by the guys at EvoSport and were originally the HIOP headers, but Turner and Evosport partnered up and fixed an issue with the original HIOP headers and now they are just the TMS shorties.

Now, TMS claims to have a set for e36s and then a set for m-50 swapped e30's, What's the difference?

EDIT: I was thinking BMP, still what's the difference?

I don't think it was evosport - it was a shop in Santa Ana... I can't remember the shop name but the guy's name is Jose who developed those headers.

People use euro headers on us s50's. Why wouldn't the opposite work

That's very true. However, the stock euro headers flow better than any aftermarket headers available for the U.S engines. Therefore, by switching to these shorty headers, you may lose performance on your Euro engiine.

Not saying I do not believe you but... I searched high and low for this data when i was buying headers and I could not find an accurate comparison any where. Can you provide a link that identifies that the euro header is better flowing than aftermarket headers?

                Thanks!

I spoke with the guys at bimmerworld for the data. The tech said that s50/2 motors running Sunbelt cams put down 8-13 whp more on the dyno, with a proper tune, then those with stock headers or any other aftermarket header available.

If anything, the Raceland headers, or real Euro Supersprints would flow just as well, if not better.

I may be wrong, but that's the info i'm going off of.

i believe the euro head has rounded ports while the us heads have oval ports, so could explain why one works with the other and not visa versa.

It would still work but it won't flow as much that's for sure.
