If you take VANOS off of an s52 for anything other then a fully built race engine, then you will be very unhappy. VANOS is the reason why the m/s 50/2 motors have such potent mid-range and top end power.

Removing vanos from these engines, is like taking VTEC awat from a Honda, no bueno. Don't delete it, PERIOD.

If you're going to boost the engine, and you're worried about tuning, then start with a non-VANOS m50.

        960K motors are probably a no-no

Don't go with DrVanos. Buy a new oem one. I went with DrVanos and was given a vanos unit noisier than the one I sent them.

                    About $400 vs Dr. Vanos 1st stage $275, 2nd stage $375

Reliability! Trust me, I wish I would have bought new.

Or put new seals in yourself, If you go sans Vanos it will be like driving a NV with more displacement. While not a bad thing, the vanos helps in town.
