    Clutch Recommendation for S52 Swap

I'm getting closer and closer to completing my parts collection for my swap.

I've sourced everything but a M3 Transmission. It shouldn't be too hard to get a hold of one.

My question is what clutch works best for the street and doesn't break the bank? The kits I've been looking at are Stage 2 clutch with 16.5 lb fly wheel.

My s52 will be mostly stock, do you really need to spend $700 - $1,100 for a clutch set up?

Will the $500 stage 2 kit work well?

    Thanks for your advice.

I have a stock 325i sport and the 16lb single mass flywheel and I think its more than adequate.

All of the above should do.

I used a heavy dual mass flywheel and stock clutch. I like it, and I never had an issue with it slipping.

I used a lightened M20 flywheel with custom clutch setup. Had a local company here in town do all the work and build the disc.

The whole deal cost around $270 for the flywheel work/pp/disc/to bearing/alignment tool.

^^ stock clutches are the best option for stockyish s5x swaps. even for those who track them. f1 (ebay) chromoly ltw flywheel and sach's (oem) clutch on my ZF and thausands of miles of track time. Great on the street, great on the track... great on the wallet.

That's what I'm running. It's an excellent setup. All pros no cons.

i recommend the third one with the sprung hub clutch disk. it will greatly help clutch engagement. plus the auction is "buy it now or best offer" so you can likely lowball them for a better price

                          Cool! Thanks guys.

There are so many "stages" out there.

I'm assuming the difference is in how heavy the clutch pedal is, the pick up point and how much power it can take.

Euro 323 flywheel and stock M20 sachs clutch kit works fine here. I havent had any problems with slipping either.
