I have done SS reps and they were ok, should have had them Jet Coated to cut down on the rasp but have since sold the car so no biggie.

Mine hit my CAB's and the subframe. I had to put a spacer on the passenger side motor mount and some Treehouse Racings CABS to get rid of the vibration. When I first installed them they also hit the motor mount arm so I had to notch it a bit to fit.

It's really a crapshoot whether or not you will get a good set. The companies that make these have a large variance from one identical product to the next. Their Jigs suck!

What can you really expect from a part that's 75-120 bucks depending on where you buy from. Real ones you know will be thicker and more accurate so if you don't mind spending the few extra dollars it is worth it.

The ones I had ordered were hitting the motor mount arm so I didn't even screw with trying to get them on.

cool thanks guys, I have the OBD2 headers on it now, so I think ill stick with those and just run a two in to one 3in y pipe and run single 3in all the way out. Any muffler that you would suggest or steer clear from. I want it as quiet as possible

I love my Thermal Research and Development muffler. I bought the biggest one I could find with a single 2.5" in and out.

TMS headers, 2.5" straight back into that muffler is nice. No resonator or cats. It's quiet at idle and cruising throttle loads, but opens up when you put your foot in it.

Cats/resonators would quiet it down a touch and kill some rasp.

Mine hit the subframe without the square spacers they came with.

Don't get me wrong, not bad for the money... but not something I would use again if I were to start over.

So what are the best headers to go with if you had to save your money? Why are the obd2 headers good if my car has gone through all this work to be obd1?

They flow better than the obd1 headers.

Is there a big difference between OBD2 and TMS Header when talk about performance?

mine where fine, i just had to take the heat sheild off the engine mount arm, great spacing all around subframe/body wise.
i got the ones designed for the bmw V6 but they fit great on the I6
