        check out godspeedproject.com theyve got some sweet stuff. nice turbos for 450. wastegates for 200. they have almost everything. you should turbo the m52.

          I would probably supercharge. To be honest an e30 with 300whp is a handful and lots of fun. Breakaway on depend but damn quick in a straight line. I don't need the 'extra' power cap that a turbo would offer.

            yeah. but supercharging is more pricey and greater load on the motor. regardless it would be pure sex either route you take. would you put together a kit or just order a full kit from AA?

              Nah. S/C kits are going cheap 2nd hand nowadays. Best value in my opinion.

                supercharging is greater load on the motor?

                Cheap supercharger kit + awesome tuning is probably the way to go for under $5k or so.

                  well it causes more stress on the motor because its constantly being spun by the belt as apposed to exhaust.

                      For sure Matt... and considering sub 2K for a used kit, many with bigger injectors and multiple belts/pulleys. Done deal!


                      S/C M52 would be super awesome in E30 me thinks.

                        yeah how would a turbo be stressful on the motor? exhaust spools it. superchargers are constantly weighing on the pulley. i wouldnt say its a great deal but over time i would say yes its stressful. ive always been told that by people who know much more than i.

                          s/c don't put any more STRESS on an engine than turbos do. The stress comes from the extra air being rammed into the cylinders, and the treat/risk of detonation

                          s/c put more DRAG on an enigne, maybe that's what you mean

                            either way, if i ever boost my m52 it will be a s/c. i like the idea better and i dont want huge power. i think 275-290whp is PLENTY for these cars. 300+ wont get to the ground.
