Does the VIN appear on a 24V engine, and if so, where? I'm selling my E30/S52 & want to pull the Carfax to verify the mileage.

On the S52 it is one the rear(firewall) side of the head.

I'm selling the car (maybe, if all I get is lowball offers, I'll drive it forever) and someone asked about verifying the miles on the engine. If the DME is out of the same car as the engine it has the VIN on it also.
