What is the Fastest you've done a Swap

I heard of one guy doing it in 20 Hours.

thought it would bring up some good discussion.

So what was the fastest you did a swap, what went wrong, and how you would do it over.

I did a swap within 20 hours once. You just got to make sure you have all your shit in order.

My first (and only) swap was done in 4 days, maybe 8 hours a day or so? I took my time and made stuff as I go (spacers, trans bracket, shifter, etc...)

The car then sat for a week as my c101 connector was corroded and wasn't making connection, even though my wiring was right :(

No reason a swap should take more than a few days of work as long as you have all of the parts.

Took me about a month 1/2 to get all my stuff. Then about 16 hours to swap it all. But I got screwd it actualy took a few weeks to get it to fire due to a bad DME

I went from running M20 to another running M20 in the same E30 in about 10 hours.

My buddies engine swap is about to hit 5 months, and he isnt even close.

Im thinking with a 91 318is you hsould be able to do it really quick, motor in motor out?
Assuming you have all the right parts, including the wire connectors, and e21 booster pre-made.
and reuse the tranny and rear differential.

                        6hours is pretty impressive though...

After learnign about how quick it can be done, it gets more and more appealing to me, especially as my other build is taking almost a year. and I had all the parts ready to goo...

                            .
True, M42's come out in a snap, my brother and I removed a wrecked M42 and installed a good one in less than 3 hours. The trans bolts are easy access.

As for how quickly you can do a 24v swap, it's all about planning like mentioned above, especially in the way of vacuum/fuel delivery and accessories. Bolting up a longblock and driveline is the easy part.

What would you consider the hardpart then?
Assuming you have a pre-bought Wiring harness adapter....
