Does anyone make a low profile M50 oil pan?

    Just what the title says.

    Not really.

You could use a dry sump oil pump and pan, but it's meant for racing, not getting low.

You could probably commision one from someone like Canton racing in CT but it will be big bucks. You may be able to go abit more shallow in the sump and make it fatter (more flat) but the oil pump is going to start to get in the way quickly. Get a ejnight skid plate and be carefull.

I was already thinking about raising the motor but heard there's not much clearance to go upwards as it is. Maybe someone can comment on this.

The more you raise the motor the more you will throw off the alignment of your tranny/ driveshaft/CSB etc.

Which is why I rather get a low profile pan. I can't imagine being able to raise it more then an inch and having clearance up top.

a inch is pushing it big time, 1 inch in the bay will throw the driveline off bigtime, you will be eating guibo;s and CSB all the time. I have mine raised about a 1/4 in from my Turner subframe reinforcement and the top of the fuel rail cover rubs on the hood insulation.

If I could just get an extra inch in total from raising the motor and a lower profile pan I'd be happy.

A raceskids plate is definitely going to be in the mix. I've got one on the M20 now and they're just wonderous.

There's really no option other than the OEM E34 pan, sorry.

Same, it's a requirement for the swap. It's in the proper orientation to clear the subframe.

ahh I see. Haven't researched the swap much yet, just trying to judge whether I'll be able to attain the ride height I'm looking for first - then go from there.

Does anyone have measurements as to how much lower it is then the M20 pan?

No measurements, but it's pretty low. I'm not sure how I'm going to get my car lower with the engine as it sit... :(

I'm on stock perch location GCs all the way down and I'm worried...

Oil pressure gauge + two or three extra e34 pans + tow truck friend = win
