    M50's or Euro S50's?

250whp is easy on an M50 with stock US M3 cams, exhaust manifolds and airbox. Not to toot my dads horn but he built several of these in the late 90's and early 2000's. 250whp/235wtq was pretty standard for an 89.6x86 build...even the 85.8x84 setup made close to that much power. Pull the trigger at 2500 and it's a freight train to 7500 :D

      It is coming....

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel..

      Just imagine:

You unplug the factory Siemens DME that is on your running S50B32 transplant. Then you plug in the modified DME... hide the pair of DME's. Turn the key and go.

It will be that simple. For safety sake, I'll be offering a Baro sensor option that will require cutting off the HFM plug, and re-pinning 3 of the 4 wires, assembly of the plug for that, and then plugging in the Baro sensor along with a vacuum type line to the intake plenum. This allows for ram effect to be used, and not run lean.. If you handled the transplant, you can handle adding this sensor!

Yes, it will be that simple.. hopefully to the dyno within two weeks to tune our first S50B32 with this P&P system...

      hehehehehehe

Next step will be adding the Traction Control pcb which will give us 4 channels of VR to Hall conversion.... Launch control, full throttle shifting, pit lane speed limiter etc etc etc..

      This will be FUN!

interesting, how much is this going to run for a 3.0L motor? will the user be able to tune it?

IP motors regularly hit 275rwhp. They have stock pistons, rods, valves and zero head work.

The engine builders used by some pro teams and the top club racers are rumored to be able to get 320rwhp out of a real 'WORKED' US S52, race gas of course. And considering the large amounts of cash people continue to throw at these guys, i'd say their actual numbers are pretty close.

          So look harder.

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.

A friend of mine has a VAC built S52 in his E30 that dynoed something like 290 whp, iirc. The fact is, you can build the hell out of anything with enough $$$.

              3.0 tuning

Yes, there was a question about the DTA on the 3.0 euro.

              In fact, its easier.

The P&P system will have two units to plug into the factory harness, one that matches the vanos controller's receiver plug, and one of course where the motronic 88pin dme was.

In the S50B30, there is not a need for the secondary pcb to get around the diode headache and the solenoids... but eventually, the VR-Hall conversion will come in handy for people wanting the TC options etc...

I have a great base tune for the 3.0 version, it just needs to be cleaned up a little for stock engines...(its for a destroked 3.0 down to 2989 cc, and with 12.5 pistons... but it is close to stock)

              Alex.

Is that how you did it? I was wondering how you got around that issue without cutting into the harness like you were mentioning before. Very nice!

I can't wait till its ready, sounds great!
