    Reinforce chassis

Does any of you reinforce your chassis/ subframe when you do m5x / s5x swaps into e30?

At the very least, reinforce the front subframe with Turner's weld-in kit, or AKG's weld-in kit. It's a very convenient time to weld. I'd weld on AKG's front swaybar reinforcement plates as well.

From personal experience, the original S14 engine that I use in the car off track season ripped a piece out of the subframe.
The S52 would do the same even more quickly.

S14 is due to vibrations created by big non counter weighted 4 cylinder. Six is more balanced engine and does not create the same harmonics as the S14.

I did the turner reinforcements in the front ( the large triangle piece needs to be ground to a more open hole due to the orientation on the swap motor mounts) I also did rear trailing arm reinforcement and sway bar mount reinforcement.

If you look in this thread about half way down you can see the Turner weld-in kit process for the front subframe--

I've also got the rear swaybar link reinforcements, wishbone arm reinforcements, and the rear camber/toe adjustment setup welded in. I drove my S52 car for a bit over a year and didn't blow anything up. Actually, there were no signs of extreme stess anywhere on the subframes, or chassis for that matter.

                  Edit: 3k post

Yup, I've also got a front subframe that's been reinforced with the TMS kit, then blasted and powdercoated for sale.

There is torque and the reaction to torque that alternately pushes down then pulls up on the RS engine mount.
Big ol' leverage moment at that spot.
