That took less than a minute of searching, try using the search button.

That said the getrag 240 is meant to handle the m10 or m42's torque output not an s52.

im using the getrag240 with my 24v swap. That being said, anyone who puts a getrag240 on anything more than an m50 must like being under their car alot, or likes pulling the motor again to replace the trans.

im not a fan of the m20 trans on a M/S 50/52 as all the bolt holes dont line up you can only use 4 of the bolts out of the 7 or 8 there are.

that may be true with a getrag 260 but with a 240 it bolts up as if it were stock. I used one on my buds s52 drift car to great succcess

Correct me if I am wrong but looking at realoem.com diagrams for both the ZF and getrag 260 mounting there are 5 bolts used not 8.

Obviously the 260 will be tilted 15 degrees where as the 240 will sit straight. I have heard of some people having the bottom bolt hole not line up. However I have never heard of there being leftover boltholes is this true?

I never had to pull the motor to do any clutches on 24v engines...

^^Well, that is how you are supposed to pull a transmission. I would never pull a motor and trans just to get at the transmission..

Is there an OEM option for the selector rod with a 240? My e30 325 rod needed extending as it was too short.

I'm wondering the same thing. What length is the stock 260 selector rod?

if you can find one, use the selector rod from a 320i manual. the 320 runs a G240 gearbox with a G260 bellhousing, read 6cylinder + G240, same as M5x. Proof: thats what im using and requires no modification

wicked - I had the same question.
                              running: NV M50 - g240 - manual e36 ds w/e30 csb - keeping the 4.10 open for the moment.

edit: op - I used an m20 (e30 325i) single mass flywheel and had it lightened a little - and of course you need the m20 starter.
