You can adjust it pretty easily. Just unbolt the the cam gears on the exhaust cam, rotate the intake cam counter clockwise and be done with it.

Did you notice this while you took your valve cover off or were you experiencing symptoms that lead you to this?

He had just timed it less than 20 miles ago. He just timed it wrong. It happens.

                  It just needs a re-time.

I think I had the timing alright not too long ago. But then drove around the car until it probably untimed itself. The thing is, I didnt have everything torque to spec which is why it may have Fed up.

And this is where we learn the value of torque wrenches. Well, this and the first time you have to Helicoil something...

Just a few questions. Did you check the timing by cranking the motor over by hand after you set it? Did you have the spark plugs out when you set the timing? Two thing's i also do.

I did both of those. But for the spark plug thing, I only had the 1st one removed. Cranking over at least 3 cycles looked fine. Its Just that I was unclear about the torque specs.

You have the tools to lock the cams and the flywheel, right?

I dont. Flywheel is from the E30 M3, so no hole.
