Slave Cylinder rod stuck in trans

While bleeding my clutch I noticed fluid dripping from the bell housing. I took off the slave cylinder and noticed the rod was missing. Does anyone have any tricks to get it off with out lowering the trans?

Its easy dont over think it. you may have to lower the rear of the trassmission. You can probably get a magnet and get the rod out. one the slave cylinders out.

Get a magnet that's not too powerful and you should be able to fish it out. It's a pain in the ass, but doable.

Drill a hole in the bottom and then plug it when you are done.

I ended up removing the rod. It was a bitch, but not as bad as I thought. For sure not something that I want to do again. I used a cloths hanger, with a name tag magnet which I had from working retail, duck taped together and it worked great.

My friend tells me that I could reuse the slave and rod, that seems sketchy to me. What do you guys think. I dont mind buying a new one, I dont want to deal with this again, but I dont want to be wastful, if mine is still good.

Having taken one apart, I don't see anything wrong with that.

Unless, of course, it looks crappy in there.

Edit: You need to take it apart to reinstall the rod properly.
