Anyone use the subframe spacers from 300mm.de to help long tube headers clear the subframe? Also seems like dropping the motor down 10mm might improve the handling?

^Yup, lowering the subframe would "flatten" out the control arm since the inner pivot would come down.
So you would get into the "positive camber gain" portion of the curve even sooner.
I've thought about asking one of the local welding guys here to build a tube front subframe that raises the pickup point of the inner ball joint. Tube subframe would probably be lighter as well.
I'm sure it wouldn't be cheap though.Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com

Lowering the front subframe is indeed a bad idea, unless the car stands still in a showroom, or some custom control arms are fabricated to alter the roll center. Spacing out the control arms and steering arms will be required.
BimmerWorld sell kits for the e36 which can easily be adapted to e30 control arms (they are very similar)Last edited by Massive Lee; 03-26-2010, 10:59 AM.Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

Come to think of it, if one WERE inclined to do a custom subframe, why not just move the inner pickup up.
Could also move it slightly outboard and forward to create more camber and caster as well, no?Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com
