    M50 Diagnostic port

    I searched, but no luck

I hooked one of those cables to my diagnostic port, and with no luck it didn't work. Does this cable need power to it to work? Also is it possible to pull a tach signal from it on the "TD" pin.

    Thanks

Hard to tell what the cable needs given that you haven't even told us what cable it is. :)

I am not aware of anything out there that is capable of pulling a tach signal from the diag port, but I believe it is present there.

It was my neighbours USB plug for the OBD-1 BMW diagnostic port. I got a Zeitronix wideband and data logger and I need a tach signal for the input.
