    softer engine mount?

is there a softer engine mount option besides the green e28 mounts? not that it is very harsh right now but I'd like to reduce the noise transmitted from the engine even more.

I suppose I can try taking out the enforcer cups on the transmission mounts from UUC to see that helps.

for you guys that DD your car, is your setup as quiet as stock?

My car is quite a bit louder than stock due to the headers. If I had stock manifolds Im sure that it would be almost as quiet as it was. Most of my noises are associated with poly bushings.

i used e34 mounts and they are relatively soft. they were less than 10.00 each at bma.

What trans mounts are you using? Definitely try removing the cups from them. Trans mounts have a lot more to do with noise and vibration then engine mounts do.

I temporarily put a set of very stiff custom urethane trans mounts in my m50 car and I thought there was an earthquake. I had to yell for my passenger to hear me. It was ridiculous. And I'm using stock e28 engine mounts.

I'm using the UUC red trans mounts with the enforcer cups. I pulled the cups off today, just the red UUC mounts and it is much better! definitely more quiet in the cabin and less rumble. but i can still feel a rumble up in the engine area. I think I will try the e34 525i mounts, guess it is the mounts for the manual e34? cuz they're the only ones that are less than $10 each at bma.

flyboyx, were the e34 mounts the same height as the green e28 mounts?

I'm running solid steal mounts both trans n motor, noise is only an issue from my headers that were slightly touchig my e36 arms. I ground the arm down a tiny bit and I don't notice any noise with the windows up

Stick with what you have.... The stock e34 mounts are really soft. I just swapped from the stock e34 to the e28 mounts on my....e34. With the e34 mounts you could literally rock the engine back and forth with your hand without much effort.
