Hahah yeah. I road in a m30 swap car not to long ago and it was just as fun as my car. It all depends on what road you want to go.

    Big arms? lol

It doesn't really matter I mean it makes up for it in power. This has to be the most beatten to death subject on r3v at this point.

not this shit again... seriously. search (even just this forum) and you'll find good examples WITH PICTURES of the weight differences.

S5x and M30 are not light, if you want light stick with M10/S14/M42.

Both can run ~500whp on stock internals with just a mls hg. But youre going to need ~22psi vs ~16psi to do it. Yeah, there's a lot more variables to it than just that but the fact of the matter is that 2 valves just fall on their face at higher rpm. I guess you can do headwork and a cam on the m30 to wake up the top end but id rather have vanos, lower boost for equivalent power, hydraulic lifters, COP ignition... and all the other benefits of the newer motor. Just my 3cents.
I'll still take the bullet proof m30 over a 24v engine just for the sake of maintenance costs if something goes wrong. I know that a properly tuned Vanos engine is great with boost, but it costs SIGNIFICANTLY more to build, and costs a lot more to tune.

M30 turbos run great with Megasquirt, a Holset HX35, and a properly built manifold. You can build an entire m30 turbo set-up and have it tuned for the parts cost of an equally performing 24v turbo set-up. Say what you want about Megasquirt, but atleast you can re-tune the car yourself for more power/adjustments to your set-up, rather then paying for a retune on a 24v engine.

msigner, yes we need more Canadian representation around here. what's your current ride?
So you can do research on a chassis but not on a motor?

One guy on e30tech got a s52 in a ix and goes through axles like crazy.
