    You have fun with that $1000 crankshaft in that $300 motor. I'd probably go for the full S38 before I did that.

    The other advantage of m30 over the m50 motor is that the chassis will never ask you "Is it in yet?"

    Did not read the whole thread so excuse anything being restated:

    Swapping any engine into an ix (assuming by your sn) is down right stupid. The transfer case and front axles will not handle any more significant power than what a m20 puts out.

    I have a m30b35 in my e30 and recently went for a ride in a s52 powered e30, the s52 felt way faster.

    m50 swap is out of the question for me. There is NO point in spending that much money/time on the swap. Sure you'll have a few more hp, quieter and better looking but is that worth it?
