if it is for a 506 silver, no you can't use it in a 413

edit- which 413 do you have? i don't think it work in either one though...

I don't have any ECU, I should be getting a 506 silver label from the guy that sold me the motor once he finds it but if not I'll just snag a 413 as they're more common and cheaper.

wtf you talking about, 506 chips can be used in 413 reds. Infact the only difference in a 506 and 413 red is the chip itself.

I had to get some replacements, IIRC they are 7mmx1mm (flange nuts). Hard to find, even the local specialty tool/fastener place didn't have flange nuts so I had to settle for washers + regular nuts.

Make sure you have a telescoping magnet wand to deal with these, makes things ten times easier.

Search the P/N on pelican they will give you the P/N that supercedes it automatically. I have no Idea why both bimmerfans and realoem don't do this. Pelican's system is pretty good in that aspect. I found several things that were supposedly discontinued by typing the number into the Pelican search bar.

I know it's been said but I can confirm a couple things.

I'm running stock chip from a 506 EWS box in a 413 red, no issues

Im also running stock s52 flywheel, clutch, PP in a G260. When I slip the clutch I get a rattle that I suspect might be flywheel deflecting and hitting something or other, but I can go weeks without doing it. Letting other people drive it they sometimes do it. To be honest I don't know what it could be, maybe e34 oil pan...maybe bell housing of trans, if I ever have it apart I'm sure I'll see rub marks and know for sure, either way...do me a favor will ya. Get trans synced up with motor while it's out of car, pull it off far enough to put a piece of clay on the ring gear teeth then mate tranny and engine tight and let me know if clay is smooshed to nothing. That would explain my noise I think.

So I'm looking for opinions. I bought this motor without knowing much about it other than the guy telling me it was pulled from Steve Dinan's son's car and has about 60k on it.

The head has some machine shop markings on it, and my dad says it looks like the motor hasn't ran since the work was done, thoughts? This is looking down cyl 3's intake port:

                        Also I have this:

Did Dinan do anything crazy with their motors I should know aside from the ECU?

Also I need the three relays in the wiring harness, is there a place I can buy them or do I have to go to the dealer?

Thats been ported and polished for sure but nothing that should concern you.

@moss: 506 wasnt EWS but you are correct in the chip working with a 413 red.

Best place to get the relays is to get them at a junkyard. They are not special. IIRC there's one 5 post relay and two 4 post relays.

Generally, the relays are $$$ at autoparts stores.
