Perma-Cool: Totally useless as a pusher.

"Don't need a shroud" my ass.

I get a tiny fraction of the airflow through the condensor/radiator as I did with the stock aux fan. All it does is push air across the condensor, not through it.

Some day, maybe I'll drain the a/c system and make a shroud for it, but that isn't going to happen with the shroud installed.

Yeah, I just removed my condensor. My 16" SPAL (1610 CFM) seemed like it was pushing less air than the stock AUX fan with the condensor installed. (it was)

After removing the condensor, it's now much better. But honestly I may have tried reusing the AUX fan if it didn't freaking squeak all the time.

      I have a 16" flexalite 2100fcm s-blade fan as a pusher.. it's worked fine the last 3 years, but no A/C.

I used to use the aux fan with A/C, it worked but damn that thing was loud..

The stock aux fan with the resistor deleted is working nicely up front. I then took the M20 fan, mounted the blades on the back of the clutch, and took off about 10mm of blade. Sitting in a traffic jam at 90 degrees today, the temp gauge stayed left of the middle the whole time, and the A/C stayed quite pleasantly cool.

I have the thin "Euro" fan coming, which will hopefully fit equally well. I don't see any issues with the modified fan, but I'm still not 100% comfortable with altered rotating assemblies. Especially when they are bolted to the water pump.

I hooked up an e34 acc fan to my car; nice and quiet and works just as well as the stock one.

What was involved in mounting it?

Made some sheetmetal brackets to go from the e34 fan holes to the holes on the uprights of the e30's radiator support. Just some simple trapezoid shaped things.

Do you have the AC condensor in?

Meh. He's made sacrifices to get an intercooler in there, and I have absolutely zero interest in taking an angle grinder to my water pump.

Haven't sacrificed anything, it works with zero issues. It's 90+* down here and can sit in traffic with the a/c cranked and the needle never goes past the 1/2 mark.

I run the stock aux fan with euro mounting brackets, no condensor, no AC with a lower temp switch in both my swap cars. Never goes over half in the summer 100+ temp. Sits just above a 1/4 most of the time when drivng.

You took a grinder to your water pump. I view that as a major sacrifice, if nothing else from a field repair point of view.
