Hello guys... Problem is next... Swapped in M50B25TU few months ago... Everything was ok, and then I found some M52B28 crank and rods and swapped in 2.0 DOHC to diss/reasemble m50b25, put in 2.8 crank and engine back in the car... Now, with released clutch there is sound like something is vibrating and it really sounds bad, and when I press the clutch it stops... in both crankshafts M50B25 and M52B28 there is not pilot bearing and in crank from M50B20 it is there... Is this my problem or my tranny is f.... up??? Tranny is ZF 5-spd from E34... Thanks for answering...
some problems with gearbox...

??????? What do you mean about no pilot bearing on the other cranks? You have a pilot bearing installed right now though right?
Did you re-use the flywheel bolts and not put loc-tite on them by any chance?

If it was the throwout bearing it would make the sound with the clutch pedal depressed and go away with it released.
How did the transmission go together? It was all lined up perfectly while it went together right no possibility of the input shaft being bent or something?

pilot bearing was on the crank on 2.0 but that engine is now out... so pilot bearing is not there anymore... gearbox is is lined up perfectly, and it went together really easy... i spent 10 secs to "connect" it with the engine... bolts, and flywheel are not the problem 100%,...Comment

I know, it doesn't make sense but before when engine was full stock M50B25TU there wasn't pilot bearing and any noise... And now, it's there... And engine was from e34 with manual gearbox... I know it's there on all m20's and I saw it on few m50 engines, but I thought that there is too much accident for me to have cranks without pilot if it's there for all engines with manual gearbox...Comment

If the gearbox got hung up on the previous engine during separation, there is a possibility that the input shaft was bent.
secondly:
During the running without the pilot bearing in the new engine, the input shaft would have a random elliptical freedom of movement. That may have done some damage.
I would suggest that you pull the drive train, separate carefully, and check the input shaft for straightness.
If you are confident it is straight, install the correct pilot/spigot bearing, and reconnect.
if you are using a clutch disc that is springless, make sure that it is not warped.

Is there a pilot bearing on the end of the crankshaft right now or not?
If there is no pilot bearing you have a MAJOR problem.

I wrote it up in hurry so it's not easy to understand... Let's try again... There is no pilot bearing in crank now... But thing what made me to be confused is next... I bought an engine together with gearbox, put it in car, and after 4-5 months pulled it out... when I pulled out tranny, there wasn't pilot bearing in crank... But there wasn't any noise from drive train... Now it's all together and back in car but noise is so hard, that I can't believe that there wasn't any noise before... Anyway I'm pulling my tranny tonight or early in morning and going to put that crappy little bearing, and Getrag 240 if ZF is fuc... up...Comment
