So I blew the motor in my '87 325is a while back, and have been thinking about a m50 swap. One of my friends is head mechanic at an autobody shop right by my house and he happens to owe me a big favor. We made a deal that he'd give me one of the 3 m52's he has down there and the two of us would drop it in. We pretty much plan on putting a pallet jack under the car, drop the front subframe, trans brace, brake lines and front suspension and lifting the car over it. The only thing he said he doesn't want to do is wiring, but luckily all 3 motors have full harnesses. So what does that leave for me, is it just tach signal and oil level? One other thing that I didn't quite get is which flywheel to use if using a g260, I'm assuming an m20 flywheel?
What am I getting myself into

Honestly I plan on doing whatever is easiest. I have a project e36 built motor gt35r turbo, and I really just want to buy everything in advance and bang this out in a weekend. I have a spare short block, I'm eventually going to build it into a low comp s52, and run a small turbo on it, so I don't care to go all out now.
Ok, I've heard mention of clipping wire 13/ green wire/ whatever they said, but I guess it would be best to go with the turner chip?Comment

E36 is coming along alright. I haven't updated any of my threads in soo long because progress has been slow and nobody really wants pictures of me tracing threads and applying loctite. There was also an issue with a bit of unwanted attention from locals when I was regularly updating on fb, so I cut that out.Comment
