    building an m50

anyone have any "recipies" for building an m50/m52 or any of the like....

such as 3L crank 2.8 pistons bottom end 3.0 cams m3 software? looking for a setup that will make 235-250 rwhp...thanks

I think it is going to be rough to get near 250 rwhp, unless you go with a 3.2 OBD I or 3.0 with euro hfm, 24 lb injectors, chip, schrick cams, good exhaust, etc..

To get that kind of power out of an M50 will require some investment. You could opt for an S50/S52 and with very few changes have a motor that could meet your goal.

I agree with everyone else. I've done a lot fo work on M50, S50, S52's and it's hard to even get an S50 to go over 235hp without some pretty good work. Your best bet is going to be an S52 with cams and all the bolt ons. Will be cheaper in the long run to get a used S52 than the build an M50,S50 or M52 to S52 specs.

Stu's engine is pretty modded and it still only make 230 rwhp(not saying 230rwhp is nothing  )

I'm producing 250whp with stock M3 cams. Cams are over-rated for street motors (in my opinion), there is plenty of power - and more low-end torque - to be had with stock cams. The key is the same as its always been - "cubes and compression".. proper tuning is, of course, a pre-requisite.

234whp isn't too bad IMO, considering the entirety of my internals are all original Motorsport parts
