    Speedometer does not work sometimes

ok i have tried 2 different clusters with the same results. the speedometer doesnt work initialy. if i drive for a while then when i look down it will be working. turn the car off and back on and it works fine but if i let it sit over night it doesnt work again and takes even longer to start working again.

my fuel consumtion meter works fine or well it just works (probably not accurate) and all other gauges work fine as well. temp, rpm, fuel ect. both cluster fuses are good and when i pull them the cluster dies until i put them back in.

made sure my speed sensor plug was clean and when i changed diff covers installing my 3.25 diff the sensor itself looked fine as well.

    any ideas?

My guess is an intermittant connection in the wiring some where. Try a different diff sensor and make sure the wires in the connector aren't loose. If that doesn't help then check the cluster connector.

      As above.
Probably a short in the harness in the diff area, or corrosion in the connector.

        speedo drop

I had the same thing happen ...found a cracked solder joint on the instument cluster printed cuicuit board...I just resoldered all the joints.

mine was simply a cracked sensor.
