Sounds like it may be. I couldn't tell ya for certain. But I dont think my stock chip has anything like that on it.

Take the DME apart again and flip the chip around. It can be fit both ways and one won't work, same as if it wasn't there.

just because you are getting power to the relay, doesn't mean its opening... i would still try jumping it if you cant hear it click... sometimes they get stuck, or something gets loose inside and it stops working. Ive had relays in the past just randomly die on me.

hmm so there is a right and wrong way to put that chip in huh? both sides look identical so i didnt think it mattered. i suppose i could jumper the relay just to be safe. no check engine light, but remember i have an e21 so its a little different im sure.

ok last night i reinstalled my chip the other way and when i turned on the ignition, the little round charcoal canister thing buzzed.. this has never happend before which makes me believe that the chip was loose the whole time or something. but it still wont start. after cranking a few time i pulled one of the plugs and i almost smelled some gas on there but it was pretty faint and im really not sure if the injectors are firing.. is there an easy way to test if the injectors are firing? like hook up a test light to the 2 injector wires while cranking the motor or something? maybe a multimeter?

All grounds hooked up properly? If you don't have the ground tight it won't crank. Had this problem on E30.

Double check that your relays are all in the correct spots.

i would try different ECU also... If you turned the key with your chip out of it's position you could fry your ECU board... Crank sensor shouldn't be, beacuse you are getting fuel...

                            hey guys.

                            found this on search

                            same problem here.

                            car cranks, but wont fire.

power on coils, getting fuel, but no firing.

any ideas ? only a grounding problem ? could it be so easy ?

i´m on a little crazy setup.

got an 93 m50b25tu complete with harness, fitted to an e30 324td, with an 402ecu out of an non vanos car.

i know its the wrong ecu, but if it would be a wrong one, car wont get fuel, poweron coils, check engine light on etc ?

                            need some help.

                            thanks in advance
