Deleting PS on my m50, do I need a new belt?

I've read a ton of posts about people removing the PS on their cars including the m50 motors but I've never seen it be mentioned that you need a new belt.

So I'm under the car today and I thought the pump was going to be on a separate belt but it's not, it has a serpentine belt for everything, so if I delete the pump, obviously I will need a shorter belt, right?

    Am I missing something?

You will need a shorter belt, but I do not know where to find one.

Ok - I'm just surprised I hadn't read something about it before. Hopefully someone will have a part # for a shorter belt, if not I have no desire to run back/forth between the car and the parts store (closest store is 15min away) to find one that fits...

String and a tape measure man. The part number of the belt denotes the length. the width is 13/16ths

Great info. I'm planning to do the same with my m50. A 6pk1420 belt will run the a/c correct?

Nope. AC has its own belt.

The AC belt is separate from the rest of the accessories.

you can always just use 6PK X 1453 belt and install the PS pump delete that's on the newer cars like the Z4.
