What linkage are you suppose to use on the 240 with an s50 with green mounts? the 240 linkage seems a bit long....I read a bunch of swap threads (e30tech, r3vlimited, e30wiki, e30performance) and it doesn't say anything about needing a different linkage setup for the 240 .. any help?

very good question as i've been wondering the same thing.

It looks like you can also use the selector rod from a 320i? From what year? Is that all you need or do I need the whole linkage setup?Comment

is it something that could be fabbed? these rods aren't inherently complicated. its just the selector right?Originally posted by FredKHowever, in your absence, I will likely sit in your seat buck naked while making racecar noises as if I were maxing your E30 out on the Mulsanne Straight while allowing the perforated vinyl to soak up my butt sweat (going 200 mph does that to you).

mine's a getrag 240, it looks like the top rod is too long too, by about 1.25 inches. i'm going to try and cut it and get some plates for the sides, drill holes (6) and bolt it back together. The selector rod is too long as well, but I can cut and weld it since its steel.
otherwise i'm looking for a getrag 260 shifter set, thats supposed to work...Comment

There's a manual 320i at the junkyard I'm going to use the 320i selector on my 240 supposably no modification needed since it's also a 240 it's just shorter...Comment
