    Linkage question

What linkage are you suppose to use on the 240 with an s50 with green mounts? the 240 linkage seems a bit long....I read a bunch of swap threads (e30tech, r3vlimited, e30wiki, e30performance) and it doesn't say anything about needing a different linkage setup for the 240 .. any help?

It looks like you can also use the selector rod from a 320i? From what year? Is that all you need or do I need the whole linkage setup?

I just dropped my m52 in my 318 and I need the right rod. I'm happy to cut and weld, but I can't weld aluminum...

is it something that could be fabbed? these rods aren't inherently complicated. its just the selector right?

mine's a getrag 240, it looks like the top rod is too long too, by about 1.25 inches. i'm going to try and cut it and get some plates for the sides, drill holes (6) and bolt it back together. The selector rod is too long as well, but I can cut and weld it since its steel.

otherwise i'm looking for a getrag 260 shifter set, thats supposed to work...

There's a manual 320i at the junkyard I'm going to use the 320i selector on my 240 supposably no modification needed since it's also a 240 it's just shorter...
