    wont turn over...*m50TU swap*

i wired up the m50, and when i turn the ignition, the crank spins almost 1/4 circle then all i hear it tick tick tick tick tick tick tick....*smoke from the wires*

when i turn the crank in the front by hand, the starter gives it a good 1/4 spin.

    any ideas?

Or your battery is dead, or you forgot to put earth on your engine... Probably the second one..

i hoooked up a jumper cable and tried, and still got the same result. i am sure this battery is good becuase it was replaced and ran wonderful when i pulled the M20 mid May.

all the ground wires are hooked. and i have fuel and spark.

Throw out bearing tube fused to the clutch disc hub ?
Starter gear jammed on ring gear?
You are unable to turn the engine over two complete revolutions by by hand??

the TOB was free. i had it out of the tranny and place back in. so it hasn't fused to anything.

            and i can completely turn the engine by hand 180 360 540 720 900 1080...

            weird.

                UPDATE.

                problem solved. engine runs....

PROBLEM: start stopped and ticked the night away. 1 ground wire in harness fried.

SOLUTION: apparently only 1 engine block ground isn't enough. so i wired up another on the starter side....and murder she wrote.

Your lack of command of the english language OWNS you. If you have one GOOD ground coming off the motor mount arm and the two main harness grounds connected to the shock tower you shouldn't have a problem.

If something smoked you are doing it wrong.
