I dont really see any point to remove the spacer... You still have to run a remote resevoir when you take the spacer out...

I am running the iX booster with the "spacer" and the brake lines were close, I just had to bend them a bit. Done.

I am more interested in the setups that do not have to use a remote res.

No spacer here. I used an e34 ms and res. I have no problem hitting the manifold. I started by tapping the treads down then cutting off to fit. I've got great brakes just got done yesterday, engine in and running. I must say the brakes are excellent. So me NO IX SPACER!!!

Show us a pic. So your e34 m/c and res, dont hit the throttle cable or intake boot?

I think i got it figured out. I used the e30 non-ix fork, it's about half inch shorter. So i did a few adjustments and shit and i think i got it to work. The non-ix fork threads in about 4-5 threads in and that's just the right length. When you push the pedal out you can see the pin come out of the switch and when the pedal comes back it pushes the pink back in. I'm kinda skeptical about it only being threaded 4 threads in but it should hold up, we'll see.

Here's a pic showin the difference:
