    hall effect cam sensor

Can a hall effect cam sensor be used instead of a normal cam sensor?
If not would I be able to use the plug from it and attach it to the regular sensor I am using a e34 harness 1995 and a 93 or 94 engine .

    Thanks

You mean an OBDII cam sensor on an OBDI engine? Afaik no it won't work.

Don't do that. Get the right part... so it works.

          sensor

I am not sure which part to buy because it is a 95 e 34 harness and the engine is 93 or 94 m50 with vanos.I have both the cam sensors , one from the e 34 and one that came with the engine. The problem is they have differnt plugs male and female.

            They are the same:

One of the cam sensors you have is not correct.

Use which ever one fits. Functionally they are identical and just have different plugs. I'm using the OBD2 cam sensors from my M54 with OBD1 electronics. Only difference is the plug. They work fine.
