    need help! m52b28 motor question

    so i going to pick up my motor tommoroe complete with ecu harness et.c just no trans kuz its auto only problem is the only 1 i could find is from a 1997 528i m52b28 i believe ..for $600 i already started it so i know it runs my question is whats going to b the difference parts wise and prices compared to getting a 92 525i motor? is it going to take more or less custom fitting and will it fit? need to know quick havent been on here in a while so i practicually forgot everything since i was last on so grill me all u want for newbing lol

      97 528i had an M52B28 OBD2. The TU's came later.

        all i really need to know right now before i pick it up is 1 is it worth it for 600 and 2 will it fit without me spending 10 kajillion dollars of custom fab shit? oh and i have 2 hours before i take off.....thanks bary i wasnt quite sure i looked it up on wiki and it said tu for 97+

          I personally think it's an OK deal. There are plenty of these engines around so the longer you wait the better the chance at finding a deal. I'm no expert but you'll probably still need e34 oil pan, OBD 1 conversion, M50 manifold, etc. I'm thinking about swapping a B28 into my cabby if the M20 blows. Boosted M52B28 should be plenty of fun without the M engine premium.
