    OBD2? Its not that bad.

Ladies and gents. I current have my OBD2 S50 with all emissions equipment up and running.

Here is some points and tricks. The airgap on the front wheel is TINY. Very very tiny. I sent mine to .003 The less the better. OBD1 wheel.

I shortened the OBD2 coolant pipe. And welded a lip on it. Used my OBD1 oilfilter housing.

Im using an M50 mani with a eurosport adapter.

I made a jumper and moved the Vacuum control solenoid to underneath the intake and bolted it to the threaded hole in the intake.

OBD2 throttle, OBD2 Traction Control, OBD2 Pan, Cyclone, Sec \02 Pump, OBD2 Headers, Pretty much all things OBD2 Mandatory for the engine management.

TRM is going to tune it (Thanks matt!)

    Boy does it purr.

now time to find a spare ECU and get it tuned.

It's pretty cool that you can do that, but why? What's the advantage on the S50?

Yeah... why replace s50 parts to make things more complicated. This would make way more sense on an obd2 motor.

How did you get the E36 airbox to fit?

I crashed my E30. And I ended up getting a free z3. I live in california. And something about selling my 8k dollar investment over some emissions bullshit didn't make sense to me. And who doesn't like having a roadster? For free?

So I took my 6 Speed, My S50, My recently Rebuilt motor, and a Z3 harness and made it work. Pretty simple actually. Most people beat the SHIT out of their motors. And I would have to take the head off to really see the health. My motor was a beast. No reason to sell it just because of a crank position location.

Cut off the lower locating hole thing on the bottom of the E36 Airbox. Move the Cruise Control bracket. And if you have ABS. Move that to.

I like the OBD2 stuff a lot more in someways.

I was going to merge them. I was hoping the forum would autodouble post. But thanks danny!

                I didn't realize that z3s had obd2 s50s? Is that what I'm hearing?

Sorry, confused. Either way congrats on the skills (I fail at wiring) and i'm sure it's a blast.

                  Z3's came with 1.9-M44, 2.5(DV) 2.8-m52(SV), 2.8-m52tu(DV) 3.0-m54(DV) 3.2 s52(SV) and S54(DV)

I plan on passing emissions also. They never came with an S50. I just had it laying around. Free MZ3? I also just put my M3 Front spindles on, My 3.46, and the 6 Speed.
