    WTF! e21 mounts don't fit

So i bought e21 transmission mounts for my swap,.. wen't to bolt the trans brace up and bam, the mounts don't fit in the little ears on the transmission. Seems like the studs are too fat. They also wouldn't fit in the brace but i drilled a bigger hole. So i took a file and worked on shaving ears and got pissed off. So i bolted my e30 mounts and they work fine. The ear doesn't sit all the way down on one mount but the nuts weren't tightened or anything.

I swear i get all the weirdest shit that happens to nobody else but me :(

    I'm using getrag 260

Your just sweating the little things too much, make it work! I didn't hesitate to bust out the file on mine.

Agreed. 5 min with a file on the ears and the trans mounts go right in.

FWIW i splurged and bought a set of really good files, and it makes a huge difference over the cheapies.... definitely worth the extra $

Keep them clean and dry and you should not have to buy a set for quite some time.

i found this out too and everyone above is correct however i always wondered if everyone knows about this already then why does every single DIY or how to thread that mentions E21 mounts work great never once say oh yea you have to file out the holes lol..
