    m50 with 2 throttles?

    hey guys,

i bought a car that had an m50 swap already in it. after looking it over, it appears the guy who did the install put on two different throttles?! i've seen pictures of many different m50s swapped into e30s and i knew something looked wrong. upon taking off the air filter and MAF, i discovered the 2nd throttle (which is not hooked to any cables or plugged in where it has plugs) has the plate just stuck in the open position and just sits there. it doesnt have any effect on the car runs (it would seem) but i'd like to setup the intake the way it supposed to be. (this is a 95 m50tu, btw)

any ideas what is wrong here/why he would do this? what parts might i need to remedy this? many other things on this car are hacked, so this doesn't surprise me.

picture (orange shows the working throttle, red shows the extra one)

Actually, just remove the front throttle body and get a new intake boot. Should be the same.

I removed the plate and shaft from my ASC throttle body, and blanked off the holes.

a replacement elbow is $15. I hate how it looks like I have random stuff not hooked up in the engine bay. Looks hacked.

Exactly the reason I removed my ASC stuff. The boot probably needs replaced anyway, they only last 10 years or so before cracking. It also allows easier access for other things without extra stuff around the throttle body. Every little bit helps.

i thought that only came in OBD2 cars ie. m52... i was wrong.
The solution is an OBD1 intake boot and remove that TB. e36's have that for traction control i'm almost certain it is not working in your car.. specially if its not plugged in -.-
                    No more e30s for me.
