    'Sport mode' of sorts

Well, i was thinking today... whats stopping someone from getting a custom chip for track and stuff, and a tame/stock chip for daily driving, then making some form of switch to switch between them, almost like how the newer cars have a sport mode.... of course you would have to turn the car off to switch it or else the computer would probably have a bird...

Anyone done such a thing? Or am i crazy for thinking such?

the ecu would have to readjust every time you switched chips.

Uhm, miller war chip? It can change tunes on the fly, but unless you're tuning for race gas, why would you want to de-tune for normal driving? Seems like you'd end up wasting fuel because of inefficient tuning.

Most sport modes these days (save the 400/500hp "M" mode nonsense) change things like throttle response, which I think is a terrible idea. I like my throttle to be predictable, not a computer compromised mash box.

              It actually really doesn't.

We have a chip switching system that lets you switch between two chips in one. We also have one that can switch as many as 8 different ways.

We could set it up with one chip like a sort of valet mode and the other is a performance tune.

The problem is that you do end up wasting fuel on the less aggressive tune because you need more throttle (and more gas) to make the same amount of power when your tune is not perfect.

The only reason to do this is if you are using different kinds of fuel; i.e. race gas, E85, and pump gas. otherwise, there is already a performance and fuel economy map built in, that's what's so wonderful about 3D EFI tuning.
