The M50 head is the same though , all the M50-S50-S52 heads are the same with the exception of the cams and their holders.
The early non-vanos heads do have a slightly smaller valve stem size but they flow the same .

What is different between the cam holders? I have an S50 cylinder head that I am building up, and I have a set of cam holders from a dual vanos Z3 2.8L. They bolt in there ok, but I don't have cams to see for sure.

umm, the non vanos heads have dual valve springs, while the vanos heads have conical valve springs.

3.0's/3.2's have conical springs/smaller retainers
