It depends on the harness you have, for example on my 95 325i harness on the x20 the pins for speed signal and tach are:

    tachometer- e36x20-pin#20(bk)
    engine speed (dme)- e36x20-pin#14(bk/wt)

If you've done the same thing that I have (mine's a 98 m52) and converted to obd1 your pins should be the same if you have an e34 harness or an e36 harness. But where it connects on the c101 could be different since mine is a 318i and yours is a 325is...

Looking for a clean e30 shell for a project.

318 and 325 are the same, later late models have some differences like abs but allthe basics are the same. 3 nights looking at diagrams fml. All in all Erics pin 7 big green wire goes straight to ground from c101 engine side, something has to be wrong with his harness.

Anyone can mess up but he has wired a bunch of these before. I would think the problem lies elsewhere, but I understand you wanting to check it out.

Yah so we found that the abs is grounding out pin 7, cut it to stop that smoke show. So now still no key power at pin 7. Help! More digging tomorrow.

hey dude, does your car do anything? I dunno if you've seen my thread, but my car ran fine and it just stopped the other and starter clicks that's it. Did you end up making a ecu ground?

No, I didn't make one. My problem is "that the abs is grounding out pin 7, cut it to stop that smoke show. So now still no key power at pin 7"

If anyone has ideas of why this happens that would be greatt.

i think we should keep the wire running over the roof to start it :)
