    help reading the etm

One question to clear this up for me, when i read about the plug for the dme(x6000) there is a pin chart and it says E=input A=output M=ground. Does this mean that i should be getting power in the pins that are designated A. output.

Or is it the other way around i should be getting power in the pins designated E input, as in its an input signal to the dme.

not neccesarily. Some outputs are activated by switching to a ground. Others are activating by supplying a voltage. Inputs can work the same way, some are ground level signals and some are voltage. But grounds will always be grounds.

so looking at the etm and checking for voltage at the ecu plug is kind of a wast of time or probably more complicated then what i had in mind. What your saying makes sense because i was getting voltage in some pins and other pins that seemed like they should have had voltage werent.
