I have a 84. I am running a wire, separate from the harness adapter.

This wire, where to I bring it? The back of the cluster?

    12 - CEL - 8

Should be gray to gray...through the c101/x20. Mine is (1987) and my CEL works

    Some good info in here...

Post #56 has a working early model diagram. Matched what I made (works just fine on a 87 325is). But, as always, be wary of using other people's diagrams.

So, I need help with the C104. Wires: white/yellow, green, and black. Black is RPM, and White/yellow is fuel consumption. I have the wire for the check engine light, where do I connect that one?

    Are you sure?

E goes to the fuel rail, but seems to have a fuel regulator. For this reason, I assumed it was NOT the return line. It is the one towards the BACK of the engine.

Here is a better picture of D and E.

Well, in a thread I read, people say to just keep it. I have mixed info on this one. I guess i wont use it, what do I do with the hardline from the fuel tank?

One side (large) of the charcoal canister goes to the fuel tank, the other side (small) to the pressure valve and then to 'C' on your picture.

Both A and B are for coolant circulation to the throttle body, one is in the other is out. I have that circuit deleted since it's not really needed unless you are driving in sub-zero temperatures.
