I painted mine becuase I didnt want the red casing and silver blades to be too noticable fron the exterior. You can check out how much clearance I have from the 10in fan and the pulley.
I mounted the 16in fan very easily. The 2 top holes lined up with the condenser brackets so all I had to do was drill into the brackets. And I just turned over the Oil cooler brackets and relocated them to hold down the bottom. Very easy to mount.
I have my 10in fan turn on before the big boy fires up so the system doesn have to draw 18amps everytime it turns on. I know it doesnt really matter but its the OCD in me. The FFD fan controller/relay is very easy to work with so I can adjust it anytime.95 7.1L 16V E36 M3

Not bad at all! So you still have the condenser then? I had no idea that FFD offers a fan controller, how much did that run you?IG: deniso_nsi Leave me feedback here

The fan controller was $89. The way I have it wired up is that the controller can actually control 2 fans, and they would turn on at the same temp but I wanted my fans to run on different temps like your set up. So the big boy is running off the OEM Low temp fan switch, both T1 and T2 put together, and the 10in fan is run via FFD fan controller.
I definitley have peace of mind wiht this set up. with the 10in fan turning on earlier, the temp gauge stays right halfway between 1/4 and 1/2.
Man, I am wordy today...95 7.1L 16V E36 M3

Also, would that fan alone provide adequate cooling assuming I do the FDM and keep my M42 radiator(atleast for now) for my S50?
I really appreciate the help, just trying to understand everything in here :)

I just wired mine up to the low temp oem aux switch that came with my Bimmerworld Fan delete kit. The fan from FFD does come with a mounting kit. I didnt even use it all.
I can only speak for my set up but I too have an S50 in there and cooling is not an issue with this fan. You will love how quiet it is too. So I dont see it being an issue with your set up, even with the m42 rad.95 7.1L 16V E36 M3
