    For those running A/C

    Pertaining to a 86 325es with a 98 m52b38...

Which ac parts are you running? Like compressor from the e36 and everything else from the e30? Is everything just stock, minus the hoses? Or are other custom parts needed.
Im looking to buy the aforementioned car, and if i can, install the ac, which was deleted.

No. You will want the E36 compressor plus the high and low lines from. You'll need that to mate everything together.

Is this how yours is set up? Can you get some decent pics? Do the E36 high and low sides just screw into the E30 ? If so, where do they mate?

      thanks,

(A/C noob alert: were talking about ac hoses/lines right?)
        Well I found this thread:

That shows how to to mount the lines. Is everything else bolt on?

Sorry to bump this, but is the yes to lines question, or the bolt on question, or both? I just wanna gather as much info as I can.
The evaporator/drier/condensor all can bolt on? Do i need different brackets for the m52? (sorry i dont have the engine bay sitting in front of me to look at where everything would mount up on a m20 or m52)
I think what my plan is, is to find an e30 thats being parted out, mount everything up, have the lines custom made, and then go to a shop to have all the lines installed, wiring done, and the rest of the tricky stuff. I can bolt stuff on, but I think due to my lack of experience, Id rather leave the a/c to the pros.

              Hey,

Take a step back for a moment to proof read your post because I can't understand a thing you're saying. It seems like you're asking the same thing as above where I already responded that you need the E36 compressor plus the high and low lines. Yes obviously you will need the a/c bracket from the m52 so that you can mount the compressor on there.

Again, you need the high and low a/c lines from an e36 or an e34 (http://r3vlimited.com/board/showpost...1&postcount=47).

I just wanted to confirm that the other parts bolted right to the car and didnt requre other mounting brackets. Maybe you were encompassing that in your origninal answer, but i wasnt really thinking about that when I asked the question, so my bad. This will be my first e30, so i dont really know how and where everything bolts up.

                  No worries.

There's the a/c bracket. Everything else should be fairly straight forward once you have the a/c adapters.

Cool beans, Im starting to think this may be more manageable than originally expected.

Yeh, its really not that bad once you get all of the parts.

Denis, does this mean If I get high and low side A/C lines from an e34/6 they'll be a bolt in affair, no adapters or anything?

Sup, you need the ends of the E36 compressor lines, cut them off and have them brazed onto the E30 lines. I've done this many times takes about 20 min. There is no bolt on affair with the a/c lines.

I don't have pics b/c I haven't completed it just yet but that will be my setup. On the low pressure side I'm using an E36 end spliced in:

The fittings you see above are for the high pressure side.

Otis' method is definitely easier though!!!
