    coolant reservoir solution

    what are you all doing about the coolant reservoir with your 24v swaps?


    im going to be running a mishimoto rad with a single pusher fan. are you all just running an OE coolant res with the leveling sensor? mounted where?

          the M42 res was part of the rad if im not mistaken, you can use the entire rad. Or if your going mishimoto you will need a res from any late model M20 powered car.

              Umm stock location could be 4 different places. M10 cars and early m20's have a bottle on the pass strut tower, later M20 cars have a square res over the drivers fender well, E30M3's have it over the battery tray and M42's are integrated into the radiator.

                  not easily, the late model tank fits best in its stock location which is on the driver side fender in front of the strut housing.. You will need to buy the little clip that holds the tank on from a dealer... i believe its like $2 max...

                    This is the proper answer. coolant res and clip for an 1989 325i is perfect.

                        I have the late model tank mounted in an early model in the battery tray...made some simple mounts and it appears to be working great.
