There is how it sits compared to the steering rack. Just compare to your M20 pan.

I am building a custom oil pan just for that reason, I don't like it being the lowest part of the car. Hopefully it will be done in a month and will take some pics when completed. Part of the reason the pan is deeper is it holds like 7-7.25 qts. The low oil pan could be an issue if your car is really low.

Why not just get a proven pan with its own baffle and clearance and just slat the skid plate over it, then your WHOLE front subframe is protected. Seems like money better spent.

Mtriple and Blunt have both been able to fit the skidplate over it IIRC.

That said, I had custom plates welded to the bottom of my pan for added protection.

No kidding...that's the first thing I started wondering about.

All I have to do is shorten the sump pipe a little bit, won't be very difficult. As for the proven baffles, they aren't complex at all so copying them will be easy. I just don't like the fact that the oil pan could scrape on slightly above average speed bumps.
