Yea thats what I am thinking. I already have the all the OBD1 components and harness installed on the engine. Its just sitting in my friends garage. But in the meanwhile, Ill be doing some more preventative maintenance on the engine and prepping the chassis.

Wow. I just read through this entire thread over since I posted it a year and half ago.

I would like to publicly apologize for my stupidity and general douche-baggery to all the members of this forum. I was extremely immature and uninformed, however, I have since grown a pair of balls and become wiser behind the wheel of God's Chariot.

Although I was once blind, I can now see the light. In spite of all the hate I received for this thread, I persevered and accomplished my goals of swapping my e30. Much thanks to all the great information I found amongst r3v and all the members who pointed me in the right direction. As many would have guessed it, the swap took longer than expected but I fired up the engine for the first time on the eve of Bimmerfest East 2011. Since then, I have daily driven the car and as of yesterday, rolled over 15,000 miles on the swap. Thanks again to everyone.

Let this thread be a reminder for all young e30 owners out there: Shut the fvck up and do*werke

        :)

I feel like I just READ one of those after-school specials.

And they all lived happily ever after.

        Congrats on the successful swap.
