Does my M50nv have knock sensors?

My block vin reads that the engine is out of a 92 325i, 11/91 build date, manual. I bought the engine with the 402 DME and harness.

Attached to the side of the block where the knock sensors (ping sensors) but they needed replacing. I started messing with the harness to try to figure out where everything goes and noticed that my harness does not have connectors for the knock sensors.

Last weekend, I went to my local pnp the there was a ~93 525it with a NV engine with no knock sensors. Then I found a fresh unpicked 92 325i NV with no knock sensors aswell. WTF?

The people that I bought the engine stuff from are actually helping me out with this issue even after i have paid in full. They may have another harness that may have the connectors for the knock sensor but is that what I need?

    So the questions...
    1. Is it possible that someone just attached the KS to my block thinking I may need them?
    2. Do I have the wrong harness?
    3. Does my M50nv even have knock sensors from the factory?
    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers!

Look at the ETM for the engine.... or even a block diagram in the bentley.

NV engines don't have knock sensors.

This is what I thought but what throws me is that they are on the block.

I was also trying to make sure that the 402 DME is ment for my engine/harness. From my research, the DME is usable. Will the 402 look for the KSs?

maybe it's a vanos block. or somebody just stuck them on there. the NV harness and ECU have no inputs for knock sensors.

When I ran the vin for the block, it was made in 11/91 and I thought that all of the engines made then were nv...hense no ks should be present...i guess.

edit...thanks for the link. Im on the hunt!

if they are present somebody might have bolted them up. the bosses were probably already cast into it. hell the M20 block even has places you could potentially use for knock sensors.
