Okay, before I move forward in installing my M50 motor/tranny, can someone please tell me what I need to do with the IX booster I'm going to be using? I was told that this booster will work fine without any modifying. Then I go to read some threads regarding use of the ix booster and I'm reading stuff like:
(1) Don't use the spacer on the ix booster and 2 of the 4 holes on the
firewall where it mounts to need to be notched?
(2) shaft on the booster has to be cut & rewelded to size or tapped and
re-threaded? (thought you only needed to do that if using 320i
booster?)
(3) Need to use MC fron an E32 735i? (I was told I can just use the stock
ix booster one)
So, for those of you that are using the IX Booster, will you please tell me (in simple, clear explanation) what you did to make work? I would really appreciate it because right now, I am lost and scratching my head as to how it needs to sit. I currently have it installed WITH the spacer, using all 4 holes WITHOUT modified holes AND using the stock MC on an ix booster with the hardlines going into them already. Pics would also serve a bonus too so I can get an idea on what I should visually expect on the clearance between the booster and the intake manifold. TIA.
